Here is a recipe that is easy to make and that will awaken your taste buds. The seasonal vegetables we offer are very accessible from September. This little dish is perfect to warm up your heart before the winter cold and ideal to stock up on in the freezer.
Ingredients
1 lb of pork shank
2 carrots
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
2 stalks of celery
1 leek
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. thyme
2 tbsp. butter
1 ¾ cup of split yellow peas
8 cups of water
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Brown all the vegetables with the butter in a pot. Add the yellow split peas and brown for two minutes.
- Add water, pork, bay leaves, salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Bring all these ingredients to a boil, then reduce the heat.
- Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the peas are tender.
