Ingredients:
A recipe straight from the Philippines. This side dish is very well known in the Filipino street food scene and traditionally consists of unshelled shrimp, a thick pancake batter and various vegetables. We have created our version of this simple and oh so crunchy recipe!
Ingredients
1 spaghetti squash
2 cups of bean sprouts
1 cup of flour
1 cup of breadcrumbs
4 eggs
1 tbsp. fish sauce
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp fresh or dried parsley
1 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp. olive oil
A few shrimps
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees or cook squash in the microwave for 8 to 10 minutes, placing the inside of the squash down.
- Mix flour, breadcrumbs, eggs, sauces, onion powder, parsley, paprika to create the "pancake batter".
- Cook squash with the inside down for about 25 min or until a knife can pierce the flesh.
- Stir in squash, bean sprouts. Mix well.
- In a saucepan with oil, put parts of the mixture forming patties while cooking. Brown well.
- Serve with a few shrimp on top of the patties.
To be enjoyed with a sauce made with a mixture of vinegar and garlic mayonnaise.
