Blue oyster mushroom shawarma



This Middle Eastern recipe is a blend of spices that can be used as a marinade for the meats of your choice.





1 lb blue oyster mushroom

½ cup red cabbage

¼ cup tomato

¼ cup yellow bell pepper

Fresh or dried cilantro to taste

Garlic sauce

Pita bread




1 tbsp. ground cumin

1 tbsp. ground coriander

1 tbsp. ground garlic 

1 tsp. clove

½ tsp. ground cardamom

½ tsp. ground curry powder

1 tbsp. ground ginger

1 tsp. ground black pepper 

1 tsp. ground cinnamon


Use 1 tablespoon of seasoning per 1 lb of chicken, meat or here blue oyster mushroom.


  1. Mix all spices. Mix 1 tbsp. of the spice mixture with 1 lb. of mushrooms.
  2. Fry the mushrooms in the pan with a little butter.
  3. Serve with coleslaw, tomato, yellow bell pepper or garlic sauce and pita bread.
